Information used to match an engine
- Full VIN and registration
- Engine code stamped or labelled on the vehicle/engine
- Production date and model generation
- FWD, RWD or AWD
- Power output
- Euro emissions level
- Gearbox application
- Turbo, injectors, sensors, sump and mounting arrangement
Where to look
The code may appear on the engine, vehicle identification label, service or dealer records, diagnostic data or parts catalogue. When uncertain, use the VIN with Ford or a reputable parts system and physically compare the unit.
Do not rely on listing titles
A marketplace listing may group several codes together or show a library image. Require photographs of the actual engine, code evidence and a written compatibility statement.
