A non-running van or pickup does not have to be near the final workshop before an enquiry starts. Collection can often be quoted from the vehicle postcode, access details and condition.
Details required for collection
- Exact collection postcode and destination if known
- Vehicle model, wheelbase and approximate weight
- Does it roll, steer and brake?
- Is it stuck in gear or is the transmission locked?
- Are keys available?
- Is access suitable for a recovery vehicle?
- Has the vehicle been modified or heavily loaded?
Engine delivery and core exchange
Supply-only engines may arrive on a pallet and may require the old engine to be returned. Confirm delivery access, unloading, core surcharge, collection packaging and the time allowed to return the old unit.
Do not drive to save recovery cost
After low oil pressure, severe knocking, timing noise or belt failure, a short recovery charge can prevent thousands of pounds of extra damage.
